I’ll tell you a bit about who I am, and what I write.

Who am I?

I’m a 27-year-old who grew up in New Delhi, India. I graduated with a degree in Finance and Investment Analysis from the University of Delhi. I have also cleared all 3 levels of the CFA Program.

I caught the stock market bug from my dad when I was 12 and have been passionate about the stock market for as long as I can remember. I’ve spent the initial years of my career exploring avenues in the equity market. I’ve dabbled in options trading, quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, etc.

I finally settled on good old-fashioned Value Investing because it has the least amount of returns-to-headache ratio.

Also, I am a keen student of psychology and behavior.

Why do people act the way they do?

I observe and dissect actions through the lens of psychology where every choice tells a story.

What is The Investment Compass (TIC)?

The name of this website suggests what I am trying to do here. I intend this place to be the go-to website, for learning about investing and behavior focused on the Indian stock market. This is where beginners and experienced investors can find what they need to improve their investment process.

I will typically write 1-2 posts per week. I will also keep adding links to useful tools and resources on this website.

I believe that experience is the biggest teacher in investing and the stock market. Now, you have two choices: either gain the requisite experience yourself or drown yourself in the ocean of experience accumulated by investors since the concept of money was invented.

I'll offer recommendations and thoughtful reviews on books covering investing, psychology, and business, sharing all the valuable insights I gather with you.

What’s different about this newsletter?

A newsletter typically communicates in a one-to-many manner. This one differs.

My primary goal is to start a community that interacts, learns, and grows together.

For subscribers of The Investment Compass, I intend to be available to answer queries. I aim to teach you and to learn from all of you who join me in this investing journey.

In the future, I will add other community platforms (based on subscribers’ input) focused on group interaction to the TIC universe.
